A Racine County Eye reporting project on education access, equity and accountability
School Zone is a reporting project by Racine County Eye that examines how local, state, and national education policies shape the classroom experience for Racine families. We aim to provide clear, engaging, and deeply reported journalism that empowers families, holds decision-makers accountable, and fosters informed community conversations.
We focus on stories that directly impact families, educators, and students:
When families understand how education works—and how decisions are made—they are better equipped to advocate for their children, hold leaders accountable, and help shape the future of their schools. This project strengthens that connection through powerful, accessible storytelling.
To make this work possible, we’re raising $35,000 to fund an education reporter and support in-depth coverage throughout 2025.
